Weekend fun...

Our weekend was busy, and lots of fun! Avery's birthday party was on Saturday. It was so much fun to see her celebrate with her friends at Gymboree.

Afterwards, we went to another birthday party...Delaney's dad's 40th. The kids had more fun playing together. The hammock/swing was a hit!

For Father's Day, Jon got to spend the day golfing. The weather was pretty gloomy and cold (isn't this June?!), but at least the rain let up long enough for Jon to golf, and for us to play outside for a bit. I took the kids to the Strawberry Festival with Sarah and Rory. Avery got to ride a pony again!!!

The potato sack slide was wet, so VERY slow. Here we are at the bottom...

And Avery got to go on a hayride with Sarah and Rory while I stayed behind with Collin in the stroller. When she got back she told me she missed me when she was on the tractor ride. Melted my heart...

Avery is 3!!!!

Avery had a great birthday! It started out with a bunch of balloons and a huge lollipop. Then she had a great day at school, including a birthday/fathers day celebration. After school we took her to this old fashioned toystore downtown and let her choose her own present (she chose a miniature doll kitchen and a family of cats to play in it). Then we had her favorite dinner (mac and cheese) and chocolate cake. A great day!!!

Collin - 6 months

Collin turned 6 months old this week! He was pretty sick when we took these pictures, but we still got a smile out of him. We finally got him to eat the rice cereal....we just had to spike it with Pears or Sweet Potatoes! And he's doing really good in his new class (at Nike daycare). We love that they spend so much time outdoors. And he has started doing artwork - he painted a rock for fathers day.

Past few weeks...

We've been having a great couple of weeks. Collin has gotten very good at sitting on his own. No sign of crawling anytime soon, and he still can't roll back over from his belly to his back, but I know from experience to cherish these last few weeks before I have another mobile child! He is still such a happy kid, despite getting another tooth and having a cold this week.

Avery has been busy learning a new skill too....roller skating!!! There was a toddler rollerskating session the past few weeks at a rink downtown. So much fun! Avery was a natural!

She also got over a major fear at rollerskating...she is no longer afraid of people in animal costumes! A year ago she would have run the other way screaming from this guy! Now she followed him around the whole time and even waved goodbye to Chipper as we were leaving.

I was also busy the past few weeks - running! I finished my second half marathon this past weekend. It was not my fastest run, but it was a fun time and I had the best cheerleader!!
